MEET KIMBERLY!

Where were you born? Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Tell us about your family! My family of origin was extremely small, as both of my parents were only children. The only good thing about growing up without any aunts, uncles, or cousins was that I never had to share my grandparents with anyone other than my older brother and my younger sister!

I met my husband, David, a bit later in life, and our story is one for the ages. He was the captain of my American Airlines flight from Dallas (where I was living) to Los Angeles. We met during an ice storm delay, and he came up in the terminal waiting area and said "hello." Fast forward 8.5 years of long-distance "discernment" as he calls it (ha-ha), and we were married. Although my parents have both passed, my family now consists of a loving husband, two adult stepsons, a sister, brother, nieces, and a nephew. I also married into an amazing family including my wonderful mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and brothers-in-law. Coming from a small family, I now have so many blessings of a larger one.

What is your favorite part about Solano? Our love of Christ and all who come through our doors. I believe we truly mean our motto of "Belong, Believe, and Become!"

What does "Belong" mean to you? The overwhelming feeling of love and welcoming you feel when you step foot on our campus. Christ is present here and therefore, there is a place for everyone, even if you have to come a few times to find your footing.

What is something people most likely don't know about you? I cannot stand melted cheese, unless it is an American Single. :)

What is your favorite song? Way too many to count! A few are Ave Maria, Anima Christi, Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue, The Dance, and How Long Will I Love You? How's that for diversity? :)

What is your favorite food? Wine

Most embarrassing moment in your life? When I was around 10 years old, we went to a "fancy" steakhouse. I went to the salad bar and when I came back to the table, I neglected to look to see if my chair was there. And of course it had been moved! I proceeded to sit down with my salad in hand with no chair. I fell flat on my rear end, with my legs in the air, and my salad and salad dressing all over me. As a 10-year-old I was mortified.

Random/fun fact about yourself? A lot of people know it, but some might not expect it... I am a football fanatic!

What is your vision for Solano? That one day, San Fransisco Solano will be filled to the brim during Adoration and that people will truly crave that time with Him. He is waiting for us all and I pray that we become that church. The parish, and all who have left or fallen away, who believes in his Real Presence, body, blood, soul, and divinity in the Blessed Sacrament.

As Saint Padre Pio said, "A thousand years of enjoying human glory is not worth EVEN AN HOUR spent sweetly communing with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament."
